The Staten Island Mental Health Society, Inc. is seeking an experienced clinical supervisor to provide trauma-informed clinical supervision in our outpatient children’s mental health clinic, Children’s Day Treatment, and school based mental health programs. SIMHS is a recognized leading provider of behavioral health services to children, adolescents and families in New York City. SIMHS offers high quality mental health, and substance abuse treatment services to the Staten Island community in 21 sites across the borough. SIMHS was recently awarded a five-year Category III SAMHSA grant through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. This position will also include oversight and management of grant related activities.
1. Advanced degree and NYS licensure in field of human services, including: LCSW, LMHC, PH.D., PSY.D
2. A minimum of five (5) years post-graduate acceptable clinical experience working with children, and adolescents
3. A minimum of three (3) years of increasing responsibility for program administration and supervision
DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directs, coordinates and supervises the operation of the program, including all clinical services, program planning, monitoring and evaluation
Agency representative to community public and voluntary services agencies
Responsible for adherence to Federal, NYS and NYC laws, regulations and program standards
Writes narratives, supervises the expenditures and fiscal records of the program
Provides clinical supervision of staff as well as additional consultations on as needed basis
Holds ongoing staff meetings to include staff training, case presentations and group supervision
Evaluates staff performance
Complies with Society's Policies and Procedures and New York State Mental Hygiene and other laws regarding patient care, clinical records, child abuse, HIPAA regulations, etc.
Provides individual and group mental health service to children with developmental disabilities and their families.
