This resource gives parents, family members, and other caregivers valuable information on teens and their use of social media. When caregivers know about the dangers of internet communication, they can give their teens the facts needed to stay safe. The factsheet covers “sexting” and the social and legal ramifications; the danger that apps can present; ways youth can protect their identity and personal information; recommendations about parental monitoring; and ways to keep communication open and support your teen if s/he is being cyberbullied.
